I don't live in Manila, can I adopt from PAWS?
Answer:
The PAWS Adoption Procedure requires interested adopters to submit their application form and appear at PARC in person for the interview. This allows the Adoption Team to meet the potential adopter and allows the potential adopter to meet the shelter dogs and cats to see which shelter animal is a good match for him/her.
If you are from the province or don't live in Manila, you can
1) Come to Manila and follow the Adoption Procedure. Expenses of the boat or airline-approved crate, shipping costs, health certificate, and other incidentals to transport the animal to the adopter's home, including the transpo expense for the ocular inspection by a volunteer prior to the approval of the adoption, shall be shouldered by the adopter.
or
2) Approach your city pound. There are pound animals in need of a 2nd chance and a loving home as well. Or, you can also take in a local homeless (stray) animal. Please be sure to have your adopted dog/cat spayed/neutered (kapon) by an experienced, licensed vet in your area. [Refer to: What is Spay/Neuter? What to expect?]
