HOW TO ADOPT A DOG/CAT FROM PAWS
MAKE ADOPTION AS YOUR 1ST OPTION. By adopting, you are giving our homeless animals a chance for a good life, a chance to be loved and to love back.
Thank you for your interest in adopting. By simply reading this website, you are already showing the animals of PAWS that you care. The animals of PAWS are internet savvy and are monitoring this website's traffic constantly. Tails are twitching and wagging with joy right at this moment.
The Adoption Process at the PAWS Animal Rehab Center (PARC), on average, takes anywhere between 2 weeks to a month, depending on the personality of the dog or cat that you choose, or is compatible with your family and living conditions and lifestyle.
If you really are serious about adopting a homeless animal from PAWS, here are what you need to do:
1. APPLICATION FORM
Download the PAWS Adoption Form (http://www.paws.org.ph/uploads/2/0/6/6/20661030/adoption_application_form2.pdf) and fill it up. Once filled up, bring the form personally to the PAWS Animal Rehabilitation Center (PARC).
Click here for a map of PARC's location.
Click here for directions and commuting tips.
2. MEET AND GREET
Upon submission of your application form at the shelter, you will be shown the shelter animals available for adoption. In this step, you might find the shelter animal that would pull at your heart.
Choose the cat or dog, kitten or puppy, that would complement you and your home. With a little patience and a lot of fun, I'm 100% sure you will find one!
3. INTERVIEW
Two to three (2-3) sets of interviews will be scheduled for you (and ideally, your family as well). The interviews will simply tell us how you are as an animal owner/guardian and what type of animal companion would fit you and your home.
4. HOME VISIT
An ocular visit to your home will also be set so we have an idea where your newly adopted pet will stay.
5. VISIT YOUR CHOSEN ADOPTEE AT PARC
Once steps 1-4 are completed, we will schedule for you to visit your adoptee for at least 3 times before you take the dog/cat home. This is to ensure your compatibility with your adoptee. :)
6. RELEASE DAY
On the day of the release, pay the adoption fee. That's Php500 for cats and Php1000 for dogs. The following will be covered:
Take your new companion home and go online to join the official PAWS yahoogroup and occasionally tell us what's up. We'd love to hear how you are doing with your new animal companion. Share pictures!
NOTE:
After being adopted out, the animals may be brought back to the shelter to get free basic obedience training and avail of free veterinary consultations and discounts on PARC clinic services (all by appointment).
The adoption fee simply ensures that the adoption and animal rehabilitation programs of PAWS keep rolling like a happy puppy playing in the green pasture on a Saturday afternoon!
If you have more questions, kindly call PARC at (02)4751688, or email [email protected]
Wondering why there are very few photos online of the shelter animals for adopters to choose from? It's because we want serious interested adopters to visit the shelter to meet all our adoptable dogs and cats to find their best match. :)

IF YOU CAN'T ADOPT, SAVE A LIFE AND FOSTER INSTEAD!
THEY NEED YOUR HELP.
Fostering [noun, verb] - temporarily taking care of a very young animal, usually an unweaned puppy or kitten ; a very important and compassionate form of volunteer work for the PAWS shelter.
It's kitten season. That time of the year when people keep seeing kittens dumped on the streets and end up bringing them to the shelter, thinking that it is the best thing they can do to help.
But the shelter is straining from the sheer number of cats and kittens that it currently cares for.
We offer to give kitten milk and a dropper, including a set of instructions on how to care for the babies until they are at least 6months old and ready for neutering.
The shelter is at full capacity and PAWS requests all rescuers to please foster kittens, puppies, and adult cats/dogs first until the shelter quarantine kennels free up.
If you would like to help, kindly drop by the shelter between the hours of 2 to 6pm, Mondays to Saturdays and ask us about fostering.
For those interested in fostering, please refer to the Foster Care Agreement Form.
Thank you.
