ACTUAL QUESTION SENT TO PAWS:
Nawala (o nanakaw) yung aso ko. Nahanap ko ulit pero ayaw ibigay ng nakakita sa kanya hangga't mapakita at mapatunayan ko na ako ang may-ari.

OPTION: Register your pet with your city vet.
Approach your city vet office (through your city hall if you do not know where your city vet office is located) and inquire about registering your pet. You may have to provide your pet's vaccination records and a photo of your pet.
Under RA9482: The Anti Rabies Act, dogs should be registered with the city.

OPTION: MICROCHIP
A microchip implant is an identifying integrated circuit placed under the skin of a dog, cat, horse or other animal by a licensed veterinarian. The chip, about the size of a large grain of rice, uses passive RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology.
Microchips can be used by vet clinics, rescue groups, kennels, trainers, and registeries to identify the animals. (note: For identification purposes only and to show proof of ownership, not tracking purposes).
Microchips are also useful to return lost pets quickly to their owners.
(Microchip is preferred over tattoo as a form of identification because sedation is necessary to tattoo an animal and the tattoo may become unreadable in time because it is applied on the skin.)
Microchipping Procedure:
- After checking that the animal does not already have a chip, the vet or technician injects the chip with a syringe and records the chip's unique ID. No anesthetic is required. A test scan ensures correct operation. An enrollment form is completed with the chip ID, owner contact information, pet name and description, shelter and/or veterinarian contact information, and an alternate emergency contact designated by the pet owner. The form is sent to a registry, who may be the chip manufacturer, distributor or an independent entity; some countries have a single official national database.
- The owner receives a registration certificate with the chip ID and recovery service contact information. The information can also be imprinted on a collar tag worn by the animal. Like a car title, the certificate serves as proof of ownership and is transferred with the animal to the new owner.
